It has been a year now and a good year it was

It’s my birthday.

My weight-loss birthday was 2 days ago on the 28th February. I was out on a ride with 5 friends when one of them asked me if it wasn’t about a year ago that I started out on the journey.

It went by without a lot of fanfare or noise. But today I went on a breakfast ride with my neighbor, good friend and cycling buddy, who is incidentally the same person 🤪. We decided to do a ride to Kittihawk – a local private airport – for breakfast, where we met an aircraft engineer and somehow while discussing aircraft and how small some seats are the whole thing about my weight-loss came up. He will now visit the blog and came away inspired by my experience.

Why we should celebrate our achievements .

Looking back today I realize that what started out as an impossible dream, became a wonderful reality and I still can’t believe what I see when I look in the mirror and how wonderful I feel every time I get on my bicycle. When I got on my bicycle after breakfast my words to the aircraft engineer were: If I didn’t start when I did, I may not have been here today and even if I was, it may have been too late to start.

Today I feel so good and healthy and I can’t really believe how much I improved in this year. I honestly feel more than thirty years younger than my age and more importantly I perform like that as well. There is a lot of good banter between me and my cycling buddies about my age and we know from experience that age has become just a number.

If  there is one thing to take away from this, it is that it is worth spending the effort on weight-loss and fitness. It will turn back the dial on the years and buy you a good number of extra quality years.

Don’t delay make the decision today.

Don’t delay making this decision in you own life. You will not regret it if you decide to go for it, but the alternative is a life of regret and lost opportunity. That is of course if you are lucky or perhaps unlucky enough to survive your old lifestyle.

For me it has been an easy journey and the longer I continued, the easier it became. Try it and see for yourself.
